Bridget Hodgson
Bridget Hodgson is President of BRT Services, a specialized consulting firm that serves the passenger rail industry. Originally founded to assist clients in their specialized Educational and Technical Writing needs, BRT has expanded to provide Operation Support, Signals and Track Maintenance Services, and Specialized Applications in System Safety and Reliability/Maintainability Engineering. Bridget has served as technical editor on several professional publications including several books on light rail. She is a graduate of Widener University with Bachelor’s Degrees with Honors in English and Spanish and a minor in Italian, and holds a Masters Degree in Education and Linguistics from University of Mary Washington, Fredericksburg, Virginia.
Alfred Fazio
Alfred Fazio has 40 years experience in freight and passenger rail. Born in Brooklyn, Al’s favorite transit system is the New York City Subway. He has worked for Amtrak, New Jersey Transit’s RiverLINE, and the Twenty First Century Rail located in Northern New Jersey, and has a particular expertise in DBOM models. Al holds a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from Villanova University, a Master’s in Environmental Engineering from Drexel University, a Master’s in Applied Mechanics from the University of Pennsylvania, and is a registered Professional Engineer. He is a member of the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) as well as the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).
Dave Keeley
As Senior Track Specialist with BRT Services, Dave utilizes his technical expertise to develop, implement, and mentor trainees in training programs. He is a Subject Matter Expert on all things track, including safety standards and inspections. Prior to joining BRT, Dave worked for Amtrak for 30 + years, beginning as a Trackman and retiring as a Senior Technical Trainer. He brings invaluable experience in the areas of track, safety, technical knowledge, and professional training.
Roger Wood, Ph.D.
After flying F-4 Fighter Bombers for the US Air Force, Roger joined NASA where he specialized in aerospace applications of System Safety. Upon the formation of Washington Metro Area Transit Authority (WMATA), Roger transferred to that agency to pioneer the application of System Safety in the Transit Industry. Having established System Safety at WMATA, he developed the System Safety and System Assurance Standards for the Hudson Bergen Light Rail in North Jersey. Other transit experiences include work on the RiverLINE, the Tren Urbano in Puerto Rico, and the Baltimore Rapid Transit System. Roger holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, an MBA, and a Doctorate in Philosophy in Safety Engineering.
Lorenzo Lau
Lorenzo Lau has worked for the Penn Central, Conrail, and AMTRAK in a career spanning 40 years. He worked as a Lineman until 1980, when he assumed the role of Power Director at AMTRAK. His skill set enabled him to acquire this special duty position working on plate books, drawings, and power plates. He is also qualified on Traction Power Sectionalizing and Substation Maintenance and Operation. Lorenzo has continued in this field since retirement in the area of Light Rail, and joined BRT in 2015. He serves as a Subject Matter Expert in training/education.
